A voice could be heard somewhere from the forest of this distorted world, small and shaky. The silence was only broken by the faint sound of rustling leaves and whatever was lurking around.

Inside Castle Byers, a small boy curled up on himself and sang his favourite song. He clutched at his stolen gun like a lifeline, his eyes closed tightly as a way to distract himself from the thunders and the occasional screeching sound of the monster outside.

Boom.

A sudden noise made Will instantly sit up in fear, his eyes frantically looking around. He clutched at his weapon tighter and tried to calm his ragged breath.

There was a shaky breath. Then the sound of boots stepping on vines.

The boy swallowed hard and curled up again in a fetus position. He knew it was dangerous, but he had to try. He mustered his courage, his voice coming more scared than he intended, “Is someone there..?”
