Some may call him stupid for even thinking like this, but gosh he feels like a teenager again! It's so much fun seeing you declaring your admiration to those nobodies, they are fictional anyway. So he hopes one day you speak so sweetly of him too.

It would make it more worth it once you finally become his. One way or another, he's not going to let anyone get in the way, fictional or not. Not even his poor weak and naive brother.
