Sirius didn’t know why, but he was all nerves as he stood at the end of the staircase, staring ahead as he waited for you. As he saw other girls and boys walked down with their dates held close, and he couldn’t help his anxiousness.

He wasn’t used to feeling this way. So when he finally caught a glimpse of you making your way down the steps in the clothes your parents’d owled over specifically for the ball, Sirius thought he’d faint on sight.
