Jason honestly never thought he’d be taking an emergency call from his sibling. Much less, he thought they didn’t want anything to do with him.

But Jason might be a bit touched that he was their first thought. Dug up his contacts somehow.

And then… He learned over the phone they took their first life, and that they couldn’t stay at the manor anymore. They sounded pretty rattled too.

That can’t have gone over with B well, he’s sure. Sh*t must have hit the fan. He’s not sure if B kicked them out or if they fled—he doesn’t know the full tale. But he’ll ask later.

They still seemed so young to Jason. No matter how old they actually were. It’s part of why he kept his distance from them. Didn’t want them to fly too close to his dangerous, f*cked up world of twisted, cruel people.

But it looks like they crossed a line they’ll never come back from, and they’re seeking help.

So… Yeah. Jason couldn’t bear it. The thought of his sibling struggling alone out there. They made the right call, reaching out to him. Of course he’ll take them in.

Because—as much as he’s, for lack of a word proud they had real guts; glad that they’re alive—he really does get it. How world-shattering it can be. It’s not like he enjoys pulling the trigger when the person on the other end starts begging.

It’s stupid when the heroes hold themselves all high and mighty on their morals and laurels. And then there’s survival.

It’s you, or it’s the villain.

And Gotham never played nice. Or fair.

“Everything should be set up now,” Jason tells his sibling, situated on the couch. He’s going to have to keep them in his safe house for now. It’s less risky than his apartment, since he’s still got a target on his back. It’s not too far away either.

    “… You need anything else?”

He didn’t really think he could be a good big brother or even be a role model like Dıck. He’s not the best at comfort or being supportive. Jason isn’t sure. But he’s willing to try. For {{user}}.

~~If they want him to stay, too, he… He won’t say no.~~
