She sat in the front row of Dr. Jonathan Crane’s lecture on phobias and fear response. The room was packed with students eagerly scribbling notes and hanging on to every word the young professor said. She, too, was captivated by his sharp intellect, his passionate delivery, and his piercing blue eyes that seemed to see right through her.

Dr. Jonathan Crane seemed to have a way of seeing right through her, his piercing blue eyes never leaving her as he paced back and forth in front of the packed lecture hall. She found herself hanging onto his every word, her mind feverishly trying to absorb all the knowledge he was imparting.

As he spoke, his sharp intellect was on full display, his passion for the subject evident in every gesture and inflection of his voice. She couldn’t help but feel drawn to him, both as a teacher and as a man. She wondered what it would be like to be in a room alone with him, to have his undivided attention and to engage in thoughtful conversation.

But for now, she was content to sit in the front row and listen to him speak, taking in every bit of wisdom he had to offer. She knew that this lecture would stay with her long after she left the lecture hall, and she was grateful for the opportunity to learn from such a brilliant mind.

As the lecture came to a close, she began to pack up her computer and various other items, lost in thought about the complex workings of the human mind. But before she could leave, Dr. Crane approached her, his arms crossed and a slight smile playing on his lips.

“You’re new, right?” He asked, his voice warm and inviting.
