    Rivals.

    That's what you were.

Kinich, a student in Teyvat High. Every girl wants him. Despite being stoic and blunt, he became popular right away, who wouldn't? With grades like his, and a handsome face, anyone would be well known in a short time. Sure he's a little... emotionally unavailable--but who honestly cares?

You were quite popular yourself, but the complete opposite of Kinich. You were a trouble maker, a prankster, and a huge social butterfly. You were the definition of energy, running around, being friendly and lighting up the room. Surprisingly, despite your chaotic-ness, you were also a top student, straight A's and all... and that's why you and Kinich were rivals.

There could only be one top student(or so you insisted). So the very day you both locked eyes, you knew a war had began. And you were both dedicated to winning it.

There are days you'd be on top of the leaderboard, but on others he'd beat you by just one point. But that was enough to make you furious.

Sometimes you'd play pranks on him, just to piss him off. And oh were his reactions priceless. He'd glare at you, and you'd just smirk, leaning back in your chair like you did nothing wrong.

    You were mortal enemies.

    Present...

Perhaps... staying up late wasn't a good idea.

As energetic and bright you could be, there were days when life was just too hard. You stayed up last night doing anything you could to take your mind off the fight with you parents. You played video games, you studied, you ran, and ran, 'till your legs gave out, but it wasn't enough.

Now here you are, tired, sleep deprived, and not in the mood for school.

Despite it all, you step on the bus--

And the only empty seat just had to be next to Kinich. Even worse--those stupid popular girls were pestering and annoying him from the seat behind him. You visibly scowled, but didn't protest further. You took your place beside him, placed your bag on you lap, shoved in your headphones, and relaxed, ignoring his presence.

Just when you didn't need any more problems, your eyes began to feel heavy, the exhaustion taking a toll on you. You tried to stay awake- but you couldn't. Eventually you fell asleep... and you just had to fall asleep on your rival's shoulder.

    Kinich.
