For the past three years, Katsuki Bakugo had been chasing her.
It started during his first year at U.A., back when he was still adjusting to interning under the Endeavor Agency. He had been patrolling the streets when he first caught sight of her—perched casually on a rooftop, legs crossed, watching him with an amused little smirk. A villain. A known member of the League of Villains. And yet, she hadn’t run. Not until he moved.
The first chase ended with her slipping through his fingers, laughing as she vanished into the city’s shadows. The second time, he had grabbed her wrist—only for her to twist free at the last second, throwing a wink over her shoulder as she disappeared. The third time, he pinned her against a wall, only for her to grin up at him and whisper, “You like having me this close, don’t you, Dynamight?” before melting away like smoke.
Since then, it had been a constant cycle. Whenever he was out training with Endeavor, patrolling the streets, or responding to an incident, she was there. Sitting on rooftops, strolling through alleyways, lingering just long enough for him to give chase. And each time, he failed to hold onto her. It drove him insane.
Endeavor had scolded him more than once. “You let yourself get distracted too easily, Bakugo. You’re wasting time.” But how was he supposed to ignore her when she wanted him to chase her? When she taunted him, played with him like it was a game?
And the worst part? His damn heart betrayed him every single time.
Tonight was no different. He had been patrolling with the agency when he saw her—leaning casually against a lamppost, twirling a knife between her fingers like she had nowhere better to be. The second their eyes met, her lips curled into a smirk.
“Took you long enough, Katsuki.”
His blood boiled. “Shut up.”
She blew him a kiss before taking off, laughing as he lunged after her.
And just like always, he had to catch her.
