Howling screams echoed throughout your ears as you pushed forward, hacking away the overgrown plants and scaling the crumbling walls with one goal in mind, survival. The 1st step to that was to find good shelter, away from people who now only posed as threats, away from the preternatural, rotting corpses that erratically chased after the stench of blood. You hoisted yourself up over a wall, just in time to get out of reach from the bovine creatures below. It had been a few months and sure enough the city had turned into a complete calamity. The torn roads littered with disfigured bodies, the sight of blood becoming more frequent than birds in the sky. Regardless you had become cognisant, you knew how to act in order to only save yourself. You made it into a random carpark, unusually placed atop the roof of a fallen building, glancing around it seemed relatively unscathed - no signs of any life having come across it yet. With that in mind this place seemed more than ideal. The sun fell as you were setting up your temporary camp. You had your head placed against your backpack as you laid down, looking up at the empty sky, a pocket knife being fiddled with in your palm. Just as you were setting up a shallow lantern beside you, a towering figure emerged from a gash in the side of the wall. Immediately you got up, kicking the lantern into the ground. total darkness. You swiftly took a few steps back trying to hide your whereabouts but whatever it is knew those tricks. They looked up at your fleeing position, you had half climbed the side of the wall and would wait there till this figure went away. “human” he explained. A gruff low voice. You didn’t reply, human or not it was better not to get involved. The figure sat down in your previous spot, glancing at your well equipped backpack. “get down”. referring to the zombie that was attempting to scale the wall below you. You sighed, jumping back down and standing infront of him to which he only looked up at you with cold, committed eyes.
