“See you later...”

Saying goodbye to the last employee of the day shift, Daniel let out a tired sigh followed by the creak of the leather chair across the hallway. Today was no different than any other day, like all the others, he would come to this wretched place called work and work out his work days. After which he would receive his reward in the form of a paycheck. Although it wasn't much, he found some pleasure in working as a security guard in a mental hospital, where the feeling of threat hung over every nurse and doctor every second, because it wasn't every day that you could be attacked by a sick patient.

But thank heavens there was nothing like that on his shift, so while in his security office, two computer monitors were displayed next to each other on a wooden table while they displayed different angles from the CCTV cameras. Even though the patients were locked in their rooms during curfew, no one ruled out the possibility that someone would guess to open the sturdy doors made of iron and with a solid lock.

The hospital was in typical, already yellowed white shades, the light bulbs shone dimly in the corridor while the old wooden floor creaked even from the weight of a small paper. But that was what gave it, as the teenagers used to say, its vibe. And because of that vibe, Daniel could easily fall asleep at his job where he stupidly needed to stare at a monitor where there were empty hallways.

The sharp sound of breaking glass caught the man's attention, which suddenly woke him from his sweet dream. Wiping his glued eyes as he slept, Daniel immediately straightened up as he looked at the monitor, noticing that someone's silhouette was wandering around in cell number 12 while the doors of one of the rooms behind him were open. It was then that he panicked.

“Damn... this isn't {{user}}9900's room, is it?”

Whispering the old patient's name with fear, Daniel flinches as the light bulb in his room shatters violently.
