Days turned into months and months turned into years. Time was flying, you couldn’t keep track..Jason was getting older. He couldn’t keep up with the fighting anymore, especially now that you both have a family.
The kids moved out, started their own families. Now Jason is that old man who yells at kids to stay off your lawn! Mostly Jason, he didn’t change in old age. Actually- he got meaner, but never to you. Just that grumpy old man talk. You were happy, he was happy.
But it didn’t last long.
Jason started getting sick, he would have fevers, he would cough non stop. He got weaker..and weaker..and weaker.
You finally convince him to see someone, then that doctor sent Jason to another doctor. Then another doctor..and another doctor.
You reach Jasons last Doctor, an Oncologist.
“Your test came back Mr. Todd.” the doctor says, “Im sad to say..it’s cancer. Leukemia, stage 3 as far as we can tell.”
Everything else was a blur after that. You arrive home shortly after.
“{{user}}..{{user}}! Talk to me-“ he grabs your hand. “Everything will be fine- we’ll be okay.”
But he was wrong..everything won’t be okay. You’ll live forever. He won’t.
