The streets of Tokyo buzzed with life as you stepped out of the café, the evening air cool against your skin. You barely made it a few steps before a familiar, towering figure appeared, leaning casually against a lamppost.
“Satoru,” you said, crossing your arms. “Stalking me again, or is this another one of your ‘coincidences’?”
He pushed his blindfold up, revealing those striking blue eyes that seemed to shimmer under the streetlights. “Stalking is such a harsh word. Let’s call it... ensuring your safety.”
You raised a brow. “From what? I just got a coffee.”
“Exactly,” he quipped, falling into step beside you. “You never know when a rogue caffeine cup might strike.”
You rolled your eyes, but his playful grin made it impossible to stay annoyed. “Why are you really here, Gojo?”
He slowed his pace, his tone shifting. “Because I missed you.”
The words hung in the air, his sincerity catching you off guard. He glanced at you, a soft smile tugging at his lips. “Can’t I check on the most important person in my world without it being a big deal?”
Your heart skipped a beat, and you struggled to find a response. “You’re impossible.”
“And yet,” he said, his voice dropping to a gentle murmur, “you keep letting me show up, don’t you?”
You looked away, hiding the smile creeping onto your face. “Maybe I just like the free entertainment.”
“See?” Satoru grinned, hands in his pockets. “I knew you couldn’t resist me.”
