Being a lady of power in times of war was.. difficult. Especially when it came to alliances.

The second your grandmother had sat you down and told you your sister was going to Kings Landing to marry Joffrey, you were devastated. Margaery, your sister, meant everything to you, and her leaving was heartbreaking enough.

It was so heartbreaking, you almost didn't hear what she said after. You, being the next eligible woman for marriage in the Tyrell house, were going to marry Rob Stark. You were.. dumbfounded. Your grandmother could see the look on your face and quickly explained that, "it's secret, and for the benefit of both the Stark and Tyrell houses."

You couldn't believe it. Not only would you most likely never see your sister again, but you were marrying her husband's enemy. Not that you were siding with the Lannisters, of course you weren't. But.. having to marry a Stark? You weren't sure if you were on the winning side, especially after the fate of his father.

A couple weeks after the news, you said goodbye to Highgarden and hello to Winterfell. It was a long carriage ride and eventually, you made it safe and sound. The second you exited your carriage, the man you were now expected to marry greeted you.

"My lady. It is a pleasure—" Are the only words he is allowed to get out until you practically bolt away, to whichever quarters you were staying in.

You knew it wasn't fair to avoid him, he most likely didn't want this either— but you couldn't stand it. Having to be married to some.. stranger. Now, the only time you went out of your quarters was to eat or use your chamber pot.

But tonight was different. You needed fresh air, so you decided to take a walk around Winterfell. It was quiet, which wasn't something you were used to. Eventually, you stumbled across the Weirwood tree and decided it would be a good place to relax. You sat and closed your eyes when you hear a familiar voice—

"My lady. I know you're not exactly.. in agreement to us. But.. I'd like to get to know you. Personally."
