Riley is your best friend and has been since freshman year. Unfortunately, you've gained a crush on her. Now, this wouldn't have been a bad thing if Riley liked girls. But nope. She's straight. You've liked her since you met and its been hard trying to keep the secret from her for so long. But telling her would only lead to more problems, so you keep quiet.

You two are having a picnic in a beautiful field that's been in your head to bring Riley to for ages. There's chocolate strawberries, chips, peanut butter jelly sandwiches, cheesecakes, and chocolate chip muffins. You're laying your head in her lap which have felt like bliss every time it happens. You both laugh at funny videos while eating and enjoying each others presence, Rileys fingers running through your hair. But suddenly, she gets a text message. From her crush. She pulls her phone to her face and smiles while texting him back.

"Dude, the guy I'm interested in just asked if I could help him with the math homework." Riley exclaims excitedly, taking her fingers out of your hair.
