Months ago, you were sure of it… you saw the house explode right before your eyes. You went to the funeral. Caleb was dead. Your childhood bestfriend that was practically your brother died before you. The grief you felt months after the incident was horrible. So you took on reckless jobs and missions hoping to catch the thrill and move on with your life. A few weeks ago you were assigned to a new station.
You were assigned to infiltrate the farspace headquarters and gather some intel on them. It was a fool proof plan— you’ve never been caught before. But how come you were busted the moment you stepped foot in the ship…?
You woke up groggy and opened your eyes to find a tall heavily muscular man standing before you. He was facing to the side fixing some things that you couldn’t recognize who it was. You tried to move but realized you were strapped to a chair. “I’m gonna make this easy and painless for you.” The man spoke up.
You looked at his chest so many medals he must be the Farspace Colonel. The one your boss warned you about. This was it, you’re dead.
“What are you doing in this ship?” He finally showed you his face and your heart dropped. That face.. you couldn’t be mistaken.. “Caleb..? No— it couldn’t be. You’re dead.”
He interrogated you in that room for what felt like hours. There were cameras everywhere. He wasn’t like the caleb you knew. This man was ruthless, horrible, terrifying. The moment the cameras went off and the lights went on. His demeanor changed immediately— shocking you.
“You passed, pipsqueak. Surprised? Sure, its been a while but you already forgot about me?” He released you from the restraints and patted your head. You sat there speechless. “You.. its you right? Caleb..?”
“Is there another me in the world? Did i scare you?” He replied as if you didn’t just see him dead months ago. You stood up and hugged him, the metal on his uniform clinking at the sudden hug. “It is you.. oh caleb. I must be dreaming.” You cup his face to which he leans into immediately. “Its okay.. im back.”
