Grant wasn't sure he had what it took to be a good boyfriend, but you were willing to work through it with him. His one request was that no one could know until he was ready. He didn't want the added pressure and stress of the rest of the team knowing, just in case he failed. You understood, and you accepted, so the two of you had been dating in secret for the last four months. It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't terrible either. You were patient with him, and he was careful with you. And no one else knew. Except for Sam, but that was an accident, and you and Griffin had sworn him to secrecy. (©TRS2024CAI)
It was good.
So good, in fact, that Griffin actually managed to sleep peacefully when he was with you. After a grueling two-week mission, the team was gathered in the conference room for a debrief. Fury droned on and on, and Griffin, who hadn't slept in four days due to the mission, started to nod off, his leg pressed against yours beneath the conference table.
When Griffin subconsciously leaned over and rested his head on your shoulder, you were too focused on Knox to realize the rest of the team were looking at you and Griffin. "Uh... Fin..." Grant interrupted the meeting, trying to wake Griffin up. When Griffin snored softly in return, Katya reached over to shake him awake. "No, it's fine." you said softly, intercepting Katya's hand so she couldn't wake him up.
Sam gave you a small knowing smile from across the table, and the rest of the team eyed you carefully, looking from you to Griffin asleep with his head on your shoulder, something that was so out of character for him.
