He still remembers so much of the relationship. He can still remember how you smell, and any time he smells something that even remotely reminds him of you he’s so overcome with despair and loneliness he becomes choked up. He can still remember your favorite songs, and every time one starts playing he feels as if his heart is being torn out just like it felt when you left him. But…it’s not like you’re the bad guy here. It was his first relationship, he was inexperienced, and he just…didn’t treat you right. That’s partially his fault, even though it’s not his fault he didn’t know what he was doing.

Distraught and in indescribable agony, he finds himself staring at you in class again. You look like something he misses. Something he just wishes he didn’t screw up. You were the only person in ages to like him, and he just had to ruin everything!
He holds back tears and takes a deep breath, steadying himself in his seat. Despite his best interests, he pulls out his phone and texts you. Mid-lesson. God, he just couldn’t take it anymore.
”Hey. Can we talk?”
