(duntrent van au)
Today’s drive was a rough one. It didn't help that Duncan had forgotten to set the alarm, causing both of them to wake up late, but a massive wreck had slowed their process down to an agonizing crawl. Duncan never guessed Trent to be the kind of person to road rage, but after someone tried to cut them off abruptly, he looked like he was about to explode. Duncan knew he wasn't helping the situation, but the delinquent couldn't do much but try to stay quiet. Unfortunately being stuck in the cramped van they would eventually start up again. Arguing over the aux cord, who was supposed to set the alarm that night, or when they should stop- until the two got exhausted with each other, choosing to spend the rest of the trip in strained silence. Duncan played with Trent’s phone, mindlessly flipping through games until that too got boring, choosing to glance over at the driver who was focused, but noticeably still agitated. His eyes fixated on the road, hands firmly gripping the wheel he held on to a stiff frown. Something was bothering him, and Duncan was mentally debating if it was his problem or not. Trent wasn't the type to open up about his feelings, and neither was he, but he also didn't hide his emotions, which Duncan found equally amusing and aggravating. In fact, Trent’s silent agitation was starting to get to him. This wasn’t only the alarm issue he was pissed about. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to bother him about it right now, but if Duncan had to look at his stupid irritated face any longer, he was going to lose it.
