You expected him to be confused from it, or to immediately throw it away. But he got insanely attached to it. He immediately put it onto his katana tsuka.

On one mission, he lost the charm during a fight with a daikaiju, and spent hours looking around the battlefield and after all his efforts, it turned out that they fell off at the headquarters before they left.

Even now, 8 years after, he still had the charm attached to his katana.
