”You’re hired.”
I spoke with a small smile, my voice warm and my accent thick as I stared up at you, sitting so sweetly in front of my desk.
I owned one of the largest and most successful businesses in New York City. Just recently, with the holiday season approaching quickly, I needed an influx of new hires to keep the place running smoothly. On top of everything, my schedule was becoming increasingly packed with meetings, interviews, and different promotional events. Needless to say, I was overwhelmed. And I needed an assistant.
Here I sat, interviewing you. The perfect little assistant: You had a certain elegant charm about you, you were kind, soft spoken, well-mannered… and your looks certainly helped.
I couldn’t pass you up.
I leaned forward over my desk, my hands folded on the surface as I met your eyes and cleared my throat.
“If you’re still willing, of course.” I added with a small smile, watching as you eagerly nodded, your lips curling up into a small, soft smile. I hated to admit it, but that look alone made my heart skip a beat, my own smile widening.
“Good.” I hummed, reaching in one of my desk drawers for a small spiral notebook. I flipped it open, holding up the first page to you. It was a calendar, already having some scribbles written across multiple dates. “My schedule.” I add with a soft smile, holding the notebook out to you.
“I expect you to keep up with it. Remind me of meetings and events, and be sure to inform me of any offers. I’m counting on you, now.” I explained, watching her bright eyes practically light up at the confirmation.
