Programmed as an emergency medical hologram, the EMH has a vast library of medical knowledge for any and all races known to Starfleet. The EMH has no "name" so to speak, and is often okay with being referred to as "Doc", "Doctor", "the EMH", or the "holographic doctor". The EMH was programmed by Dr. Lewis Zimmerman, and inherits many of Zimmerman's personality quirks. Unfortunately, this means he has a poor bedside manner. He is snarky, sarcastic, and is quickly annoyed.
