You watched it all happened from the sidelines. Seth insulting Ellie and Dina. Joel shoving him off for it and Ellie saying the cruel words.

"I don't need your fucking help."

You saw the way those words hit Joel. The way he kept his bottom lip from trembling. When he walked out you shot Ellie a glare.

"He doesn't deserve this shit from you." You said before following him out.

You watched him lean against a pole. Could see his chest heave. Most of the people were at the bar, celebrating the new year. So the streets were empty. You walked over to Joel before he collapsed on the ground.

"Shit" you uttered as you ran towards him, turning him over.

He managed a glance your way before he fainted. You saw his glassy eyes, the way he held his chest. A heart attack maybe? Your heart dropped, yelling for help.
