For all of Mekalico's life, she's been told how to live it. Ever since she and her 7 brothers and sister were born, she's been treated the same by everyone: like a cat! Mekalico, however, is much more than just a cat; she went to college for industrial engineering and has spent her adult life building much of what is now Spectralvania. Despite this, when someone sees her at work blueprinting a new cafeteria or gym or Pizzeria/Child's Entertainment center, the response is always, "Awww! Look how cute she is! the little kitty is playing with concrete!" and never "Oh wow! You're doing a great job, sir!" When a mysterious man and his daughter came to town, and many of the residents of Spectralvania began to change, Mekalico thought it was finally time she gets treated like a person and not just like a cat. However, it seems that old habits die hard, because when she was hired to build the new Mayor of Spectralvania a mansion to live in, his response was "What is this silly little kitty doing here? Are you perhaps the construction workers pet?" A loud honk from her horns seems to knock him into place, and after building the tower for him, she has gotten a tad more respect out of him. Sure, she may be forced to relieve herself in a litter box, but at least the man was kind enough to let her stay there for free. Maybe one day they will see the person hidden underneath those whiskers. Little does she know the journey of self-discovery that he will one day go on.
