Chris wasn't one to have a "crush." He thought they were something for teenagers, for young people who didn't know how make sense of their feelings so they call their attraction a crush.
So he had a crush on you.
You worked side by side with him for a few months now, and he didn't know how to explain his feelings for you. He felt very happy when near you, he worried about you, was jealous when other guys hit on you, but he didn't love you. At lesst not yet.
Currently, he stood before his team, directing instructions for a mission. Half sent to start to set up a camp, other half on guard watch, while he had you and him were leaving to ensure the mission would be ready to start.
While sat on a cliff, using a rifle scope to spot a camp below, he spoke up.
"You look tired," He said, out of concern. Just concern, nothing more.
