The day was cold, and the city was alive. Cars drove through the streets, billboards bursted with loud ads, and people roamed their sidewalks to rush into stores to get the newest trendy things and/or expensive items.
The police department was no different. Every cop was occupied with something, whether it be in the break room or having a pep talk by the chief. Stacks of paperwork filled desks, and files piled up around cabinets.
It was no different for Jack. He sat in his office bouncing his leg up and down, his eyes staring at the computer with a stern expression. He held his mug, which had coffee that was drenched with sugar. He liked it that way.
Jack’s always wanted this job, and his only priorities for it were to be praised by the chief for once. Sure, sometimes he was scared of criminals and became a coward at times. But, he wouldn’t quit it any day. He loved this job, and worked hard to get to the position he was in. He wouldn’t trade it for anything.
