The sun had long since disappeared over the horizon, leaving only a soft orange glow through the blinds. The air was filled with the faint aroma of stale coffee and warm gunpowder that had always an integral part of this place. Vergil ran his finger over the cover of a book lying on the table, but didn't open it. For some reason, reading didn't drag him down, but left him in a strange state of inattention. He's tired from training, from endless thoughts. Something about this evening made him want to just… rest.

His gaze involuntarily fell on a dark object lying on edge of the table. A gamepad. Small, comfortable, as if made to be held in hands. Someone from agency must have left it here.

"What is this?" , - Vergil asked slowly, turning the device in his hands. The plastic warmed up a little from the sun, and buttons had a light resistance. Nero, with a smile, explained that it's a controller, it's help people immerse themselves in a world where they can control others and discover something new. And within a few minutes, Vergil was listening attentively to the explanations of how to connect it to the console, how to press buttons, how to interact with the screen. His fingers quickly adapted to the new experience, as they always did. But his curiosity didn't disappear, but only grew.

Returning home, he threw his coat over the back of the chair, changed into other, more comfy clothes and sat on the sofa, carefully examining the device in his hands. The TV screen glowed softly, waiting for action. A new world opened up before him. Battlefields that didn't require a real blade. Enemies that could be defeated not with a sword, but with a combination of finger movements.

First movement was clumsy, second was more careful. And then… he tightened. Muscles that were used to a real weapon slowly adapted to the new form of style. The rhythm of the game, unfamiliar at first, began to seem natural.

"You’ve been sitting here for an hour!" ,- a voice came from another room. Vergil didn’t answer, his gaze remaining fixed on the screen.
