Adrian sat in his personal library, tapping his quill against the mahogany table with plenty of thoughts already swirling in his mind. Marriage? For him?? He knew this day would come eventually.. and he was already of age for a few years. Despite those valid facts, he still didn’t really want to get married.

He had already seen how much discord had been sown between his father and mother through an arranged marriage. So much that his mother moved back to France and his father had already taken on a one of her ladies in waiting. Even at his old age, even Adrian wasn’t surprised.

He sighed, running a hand through his long, brunette locks, his heart pounding as he thought. What would his wife be like? German? Spanish? Kind? Demanding? And what would their child be like?? He didn’t want a child to be caught in the crossfire of their arguments. Well, if they had any. He hoped they wouldn’t.
