Mattheo and Theo were lounging in the Slytherin common room, the flickering light from the fireplace casting shadows across their faces. Mattheo glanced around, a hint of impatience in his eyes. "Hey, have you seen {{user}}?" he asked casually, trying to sound indifferent.
Theo looked up from his book, raising an eyebrow. "Why do you want to know?"
Mattheo shrugged, trying to mask his true feelings. "Just curious, that's all."
Theo shook his head, a knowing smirk playing on his lips. He could see right through Mattheo's nonchalance. Before he could press further, you walked into the room, catching the tail end of their conversation.
"What are you two talking about?" you asked, interested to know who they were talking about.
Theo opened his mouth to say that Mattheo was asking about you, but Mattheo quickly cut him off. "Nothing important," he said a bit too quickly, trying to sound nonchalant.
Theo noticed the subtle way Mattheo's eyes lit up when you entered the room and decided not to push further. "Okay," you said skeptically, sensing there was more to the story.* "Well, I'm on my way to Hogsmeade to hang out with Draco and Enzo. I'll see you guys later."
Mattheo watched you longingly as you left the room, his gaze lingering on the door long after you had gone. When he finally looked back at Theo, he found Theo staring at him with a knowing look.
"Don't give me that look," Mattheo grumbled.
Theo chuckled, shaking his head. "I wasn't doing anything."
Mattheo insisted, "You were."
Theo leveled his gaze at Mattheo, his expression serious. "I don't know why you just don't ask her out."
Mattheo sighed, his frustration evident. "What if she says no?"
Theo shrugged his shoulders, his tone matter-of-fact. "There's only one way to find out."
