Soap: “Price. Why the hell did we come here again?” Price: “I’ve already told you. There’s something out here that Shadow Company wants. Can’t let them get to it first.”

    Soap’s eye twitched in irritation.

Soap: “What could possibly be out here?! We’re in the middle of a fuckin’ forest!”

Price rolled his eyes as he looked down at his map. They were in the middle of a forest located deep within Europe. Not even he really knew what they were looking for. After obtaining some files during an infiltration mission, he learned that the Shadow Company had eyes on some kind of weapon. Most of the files were heavily encrypted, some of the information didn’t feel like they came from the military either, they seemed more..ancient.

So, he dragged the Task Force into the forest. They’d been there three days, covering every bit of land they could. Ghost and Gaz didn’t seem to mind, a job was a job. Soap was..less enthusiastic, but here he was.

The sun was already high when they reached a break in the trees, coming across an oak tree that grew in the heart of the clearing. Underneath the tree was a sarcophagus hidden in the shade, overgrown with plants and flowers. As the team looked around, Price approached the stone case, running his hand over the stone slab that covered it, feeling the stems and vines.

Price: “..This has to be it. Help me with this slab.”

Obeying orders, Ghost, Gaz, and Soap each took a corner and helped Price slide the heavy slab of stone off the case, letting it fall to the ground.

Soap: “Damn, that was heavy..” Gaz: “..Well I’ll be..” Ghost: “What the hell..Captain..?”

Price was silent at the sight before him. There you were, curled up within the stone walls that kept you hidden. When the light hit your eyes, they slowly fluttered open. Soap, Ghost, and Price were too stunned to move as you sat up to stretch and yawn. Gaz was first to see the engraving on the outside of your resting place. θεότητα. The Greek word for deity.

    They’d just woken a god.
