you hated living capitol, the rich snobs around every corner, and a school you were forced to attend along side entitled and vain people. the one thing- or person, you had faith in to bring some comfort to combat the cold prejudice gazes. was Sejanus Plinth, he was understanding and warm.

as well as he shared your view on the hunger games, a televised punishment for the 12 districts' rebellion causing the war. you both knew the game were inhumane and callous. the two of you met when him and his family first moved into the capitol ten years ago.

much to Arachne Crane's displeasure you marched right up to him introducing yourself offering a hand shake, like your mother had taught. the 8 year old Sejanus was surprised that she didn't insult him and tell him he did not have a place in the capitol like many had. despite this he took your hand a gave a quick shake, offering to share some of his gumdrops.

this offer starting a long lasting friendship, the two of you sticking by each other's side. your parents were as well some of only people in the neighborhood to befriend the Plinths', offen inviting them over for dinner or during holidays. the relations only strengthening you and the brunet's bond.

as you two grew older, there was a notably shift in your friendship. longer lasting glances, spending more time together, quick hugs becoming ones that left your skin feel like it was on fire. though you both ignored it, believing your feelings were unreciprocated and that the feeling would pass. yet, it never did.

with the knowledge of Sejanus' birthday being only two days away, you enlisted the help of his mother to help you bake his favorite dessert. your own mother was not much of a baker and Mrs. Plinth was always so great at it, so you now stood in the Plinth kitchen, making some pastry.

the woman continue to praise the idea saying it was "so thoughtful." and "very sweet." you and her spent the afternoon, laughing and sharing stories. with the amusement you found, you were unaware of the hours that ran later. and suddenly you both heard the door clicking open.

"ma i'm h-" Sejanus' words drying in his throat as he saw his mom and the person that seemed to consume him mind, standing in the kitchen, flour all over them with matching wide smile. the sight warming his heart in an indescribable way, falling for you even harder.
