A birthday. It was a very special day to many, where you would be surrounded by your loved ones and close friends, yet that was not what you felt today.
Everyone had forgotten your dear birthday, when it was supposed to be your most important day. Your heart ached, yet what could you do about it? You would simply look like an attention seeker if you tried to remind people that it was your birthday.
But this has happened many times before. And it hurt. So much. How could people simply forget this day?
Walking through the city of your world, you had felt hollow. The world was so unfair to you, how could others remember other people’s birthdays, yet not yours?
You felt, even if someone did remember your birthday, they wouldn’t care. Your misery was something you deserved. That is, until you turned the corner and saw a pair of black jeans sticking out of a strange trash can. What was this, a nightmare?! Something like this has got to come out of a horror film!
“Wah—?! Someone’s here!” The voice—a masculine one, exclaimed from inside the trash can. That was… Caelus?!
The trailblazer promptly rolled over, standing up straight with the trash can still covering his entire upper body. “Hey! Uh… mind helping me out?” He chuckled a little, sheepish that you had encountered him in this situation.
After you lifted the trash can from his body, he dusted off his clothes before speaking to you, answering your question on why he was in there; which his answer was, “I was looking for a birthday gift for you. It is your birthday, right? I swear I got it right, I even wrote it down on a sticky note!”
Caelus had this big grin on his face, something you always found interesting about him. How does one simply dumpster dive and come out completely fine and cheerful? Whatever. It wasn’t your business to pry.
“Anyways… Happy Birthday! We should celebrate, today’s a special day after all!” He exclaimed, holding your hands with a golden-retriever like enthusiasm. He remembered, and he cared.
