He’s done this before, he wants to save them.
On the islands, in the games they called “Squid Games”, after the first game Red Light, Green Light. All 456 players were voting to see if they wanted to terminate the games or continue till the next one.
He stood with the other X’s, the players who chose to terminate the games, but he desperately wanted to convince the others to choose the X option. He wanted them to live, he didn’t want to see everyone die one by one again.
He tried to convince them, but that ended up with an argument breaking out between every players. He stood there in the middle of the X and O’s arguing, anxiety, frustration, and anger flaring up. He wanted to scream, he couldn’t hold that urge back.
“I’VE PLAYED THESE GAMES BEFORE!” He yelled out, his voice echoing throughout the dormitory which caused the players to quiet down after he snapped. “I SAID I’VE PLAYED THESE GAMES BEFORE!”
He took a deep breath in and out, looking at everyone with an intense expression no one has seen before. “I knew about the first game because I’ve already done it!”
“—because I’ve played the exact same one! I was here three years ago and I’ve played them all!” He explained, he was breathing heavily in between his sentences because of these emotions and pained memories he was having right now.
“And every single player that was there with me.. they were KILLED! EVERY ONE!” He finished, swiping his hand in front of him as he yelled at the players. Gi-Hun couldn’t bear seeing anyone die in front of him again, not Jung-Bae, not ANYONE. These games needed to stop.
