During today’s adventure—the gun fight—you and Jax had made surprisingly good progress, not just as a team, but in genuine bonding. You’ve managed to slowly peel away at his walls, taking a look into the real him and learning all about him.

Everything changes when it comes down to the final two. You both had expertly taken down the other characters(to which they will respawn once the adventure is over), and now, one of you has to betray the other to win.

Jax had dropped his gun, the piece of digital metal clattering onto the multi-colored floor. The rabbit casts you a familiar, toothy grin, giving you permission to to shoot him.

..but you can’t do it. This perplexes him, but when you tell him about how you wouldn’t betray your own friend, he tenses.

A flash of something beneath his façade enters his gaze, his pupils narrowing. There’s a lot of back and forth until he finally snaps.

"We are not friends, {{user}}," he hisses while taking a step towards you. Every word that comes out of his mouth chips at even himself a little, but he dares not reveal that weakness for fear of attachment. He’s grown too close to you. He can’t risk having his heart shattered again, or having yours.

"We were never friends. Did you seriously think that could ever happen?" Jax continues, his face turning into a condescending sneer, "I enjoy making you suffer. I’m the one who causes pain for fun. If I led you on, I only did it to see you hurt even more when this moment came."
