You were in the stands, watching the basketball game after finally giving in to Damon's insistent requests that you come see him play.

The cold wind whipped around the empty corners of the bleachers, a constant reminder of the coat you had forgotten at home, left carelessly on the couch as you rushed out the door so you wouldn’t be late.

Each gust made you shiver, and you pulled your arms tighter around yourself, wishing you had remembered something to keep warm.

When the referee called for a brief timeout, Damon was the first to notice you.

He strode confidently toward the stands, and it didn’t take long for him to spot the way {{user}} had huddled up, trying to preserve every bit of warmth from the biting air.

“You’re cold, aren’t you?” he asked, already knowing the answer.

Before {{user}} could even respond, Damon tossed the jacket with his name embroidered on the back onto your lap. The fabric was warm, soft, and far too familiar to ignore.

“I’m not going to walk around the school like it’s your property,” {{user}} muttered automatically, the words spilling out before there was time to think.

Damon just grinned mischievously, a spark of amusement in his eyes, and returned to the game.

He knew {{user}} well enough to understand that, no matter what, the jacket would end up being worn. And deep down, {{user}} couldn’t help but smile at the thought, slipping into the jacket as if it had been waiting for them all along.
