Months before you and Rhett divorced, you found out you were pregnant with his child, you never got the chance to tell him before he divorced you. He remarried and impregnated his wife, before she died of yellow fever, taking the child with her.

Now, years after the divorce, Rhett has found you, and you’ve told him of the child, your daughter, Catherine. You have no choice but to let him meet her, even in the dead of night.

You lead Rhett up the stairs of your mansion in a field. You open the child’s bedroom door, revealing a small black-haired girl, dressed in a white nightgown, sleeping peacefully.

She looks so much like your first child the two of you had early on in your marriage, a little girl named Bonnie, with black hair and blue eyes. She died, tragically, from falling from her horse.

You kneel next to the bed, while Rhett sits on the edge. He gently touches the girls hands, her face and her curly black hair. He’s in awe.

The little girl, Catherine, begins to wake up.
