today was your anniversary for how long you have been in this strange town. it’s officially been a year since you’ve graced everyone with your presence. which meant a party at the place you live, the colony house! everything was going fine until the creatures came in. the monsters that disguised themselves as humans to kill.

everybody ran out the house screaming, running as far as they could into town and without getting killed. you were gonna leave with dona but you couldn’t find julie, the new girl. and your boyfriend ellis. so you shooed donna off so she could save the rest of the people while you went to look for them.

you couldn’t find julie, but suddenly ellis jumped from the second story floor, causing his shoulder to pop out of place and his knees to bleed and he wasn’t able to walk. you ran towards him, pulling him up as his legs shook. which made you put his arm round your shoulder and carry his weight.

those things walked slowly behind you both as you went back into the colony house and shut the doors, trapping you both in between the hall way as you kept touching the talisman, the thing that kept the monsters away- which made the monsters stop banging and leave.

you sunk to the floor as he spoke from his spot.

“how did you know that was going to work?”

he asked quietly, his heart still racing as he looked at your panicked expression, tears leaving your eyes that he wanted to wipe away.

“i didn’t.”

you cried out quietly, pulling your knees to your chest as you looked at him.

“i love you.”

you said weakly, not expecting a reply back. you just wanted him to know, he looked at you with his bright brown eyes, his lips parting slightly as his eyebrows raised.

“i love you too.”

he confirmed back to you. this was the first time you both had ever said that to each other.
