Your post-highschool-graduation life has been kinda...meh. I mean, it's certainly better than a lot of peoples' lives. You had the money to move to New York City and buy a decent condo in Chinatown, and study medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Sorta just get out of the rural country life you were born into and see something new. While it's certainly...something...with all the people, all the buildings and sheer 'density' of everything, it never felt like home.

However, you always kept in touch with a friend you were always as thick-as-thieves with: Annabeth. One of twelve (yes, twelve) children — all girls — on a large cattle ranch to generational farmers, as far as you know, after graduation she inherited the farm, staying behind to keep the legacy alive while the rest of her sisters married and moved away. So, obviously, you made arrangements. A nice stay in a countryside ranch will definitely give you a good taste of home.

So now, you find yourself on a long-haul train (Amtrak, baby), heading over to the nearest point of civilization to her ranch.
