Pink. It was a color that represented love, femininity, and innocence. With that in mind, you arranged a small flower bouquet and held it out in front of you for the pair of twins with pink hair passing you by in your local grocery store—your part-time employer had suggested that you take advantage of the opportunity that the busy day presented to sell more flowers so you could someday open your own shop.

Li Tianxi, the closer of the two, gazed curiously at the flowers you held and then at you, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. She reached out shyly to accept your gesture, the accidental graze of her fingertips against your hand giving rise to a faint pink hue that dusted over her cheeks, mirroring the color of her hair.

Before you could even think to promote the little floral corner of the grocery store to them, Li Tianchen, who seemed to be the sweet girl’s older brother, caught Tianxi’s wrist, his grip firm but not harsh enough to hurt her. He shot you a glare before reprimanding his sister, his gaze softening slightly when he looked at her, “Xixi, what did I tell you about accepting gifts from strangers?”

Tianxi parted her lips, a small whimper of protest slipping past them. She tugged her hand free from Tianchen’s grasp and made careful movements with both of her hands, communicating that she wanted the bouquet to him via sign language and pleading with her eyes.
