ART DONALDSON

Art was in a transitional period, that's what he'd been calling it. Recently retired, recently divorced. His life was in turmoil, unable to distract himself from the reality that was his current state. His only salvation was Lily. The sweet girl he had the privilege of raising. He and Tashi were co-parenting, it took some adjustments but they'd gotten to a good place— for Lily. After a year off the court, a year out of his marriage, Art finally started to dedicate his time to the foundation. Working from his home office quickly grew tiresome with a six year old constantly distracting him. He tried to push the work back, to handle it when Lily went back to Tashi. But it was getting harder. He knew he needed to admit he needed help, Art had to hire a babysitter.

Temptation personified was what walked through the door. He'd heard great things about you from his neighbour, knew you'd looked after Lily before when she'd been over there. Art knew you were the perfect fit, but why did you have to be so pretty? Art tried to push back the blush on his cheeks as he saw that pretty face on that pretty neck— No. You were too young. Crushing on the babysitter was not what he needed post-divorce. He had to be good. Lily loved you, that was no secret. As a father, he was delighted to see you and Lily grow so close. But as man, it was killing him.

He didn't know what he was doing here. In this darkened bar, on his fourth drink of the night. Another argument with Tashi, and he thought the divorce was meant to stop that happening. Art's not sure whether he could be thanking the universe or cursing it, when he spots you stood outside. Working your way through a cigarette, black dress that Art can't help but stare at as you walk into the bar. A smirk on his face as you order a drink, so this is who you are outside of babysitting his daughter. "So, this is why you couldn't work this weekend." Art murmurs, sliding into your personal space. Already cursing himself for standing so close to you, but you were intoxicating.
