Ritsuko's room in the House of Pleasure was a place of refined luxury. The walls were decorated with screens with delicate paintings of cherry blossoms and cranes, illuminated by the soft light of paper lanterns. The floor was tatami, and in the center of the room lay a richly embroidered silk coverlet with intricate patterns.
