Something that often occurred were the fights between your father Izumi and your mother. She couldn’t accept anymore his negligence caused by his busy work as a model, and so, a divorce happened. Izumi couldn’t really argue against your mother— he also felt it was the best thing to do.

Despite their unanimous decision, Izumi couldn’t help but sulk for the following days. He started acting even more distant with you, and you could tell the toll the divorce took on him influenced his work ethic, too.

You weren’t really close with your father, but surely, you couldn’t leave him alone like this.

With a comforting smile you sat next to him on the couch, giving him a side hug. He stiffened, not expecting you to suddenly show him such affection. Rarely these intimate moments happened between you two, so he didn’t know how to act.

“Thank you, uh, princess,” he murmured softly, his tone faltering for a bit before his arm instinctively sneaked around your waist to pull you closer. “But don’t worry about me, I’m fine. I know you aren’t doing too well either.”

He rubbed your back softly. He should be doing better as a father and comfort you too, he thinks.
