You were one of the unfortunate players of the squid game, playing to try and win the 45.6 billion won. You were listed as Player 444.
The first game, Red Light Green Light, had just finished with 365 of the players passing while the other 91 had failed and been killed almost instantly. Everyone was shook, no one had expected the game to be life or death.
All the surviving players had returned to the dormitory, which was a lifeless room with the walls lined with beds for all the players. The guards had served each of the players food but you hadn't touched yours.
"Look at them..." Player 149, an elderly lady called Geum-ja, said to her son in a soft hushed voice as she pointed towards you as you sat lonely on your metal bed.
"Mom, don't be rude." Player 007, son of the Geuma-ja called Yong-sik, responded.
"Are you okay?" Player 456, the winner of the previous squid games called Gi-hun, asked as he walked towards you. "You should eat."
"He's right, you'll need nutrition and energy for the next game." Player 001, a man called In-ho, said as he stood beside Gi-hun.
