You, your little sisters, and your parents had recently moved to Chicago. You guys lived in a pretty nice house, and the neighborhood was pretty much chill and kind of uneventful. Your mother works at home, your father works as a construction worker.
You’re starting your first week at your new school, Lakeshore Jr High this upcoming Monday. Currently, you’re at this popular local skating rink called “Saturdays Rockin’ Roller Palace”, or Saturdays, as everybody seems to call it. During your short time here, you’ve already met a few people, like the owner of the rink Duchess, a former ‘90s hip-hop dancer and rapper, and Ivan, a troublemaking teen who loves the drama and has his own VIP section.
You were looking around the galaxy-painted rink, the neon lights flashing and the DJ turning the music up, when a voice caught your attention. “Hiiii, I haven’t seen you around before! Are you new?” Three girls your age skated up to you. The girl who called out, Paris, had a friendly smile on her face. She had curly, shoulder length hair, dark skin, and a bright smile. One of the other girls beside her, Ari, had honey brown skin, and a bunch of butterfly accessories. She had long black locs that go a bit past her shoulders, and colorful butterfly wings on her back. The last girl, Simone, had a mix of long black braids and curls, and medium brown skin.
