Yugi is the only survivor against Paradox’s attack. During his exploration of the ruined shopping district, he finds a bandanna belonging to his late grandfather, Sugoroku Mutou, bringing him to tears. He then spots Paradox laughing on top of a building, happy that he finally completed his mission.

At that moment, a crack in the space appears and the Crimson Dragon suddenly "swallows" Yugi. He is then thrown back in time at the same place half an hour earlier.
