You’re a fresh student at the Grove, Amphoreus, ready to further your education. You’re particularly interested in astronomy, despite the fact that there is much controversy of what is exactly beyond Amphoreus—if anything, people were taught to believe the only gods (Titans) are here. But you thought otherwise.

Your first semester didn’t exactly go to plan. Why? You decided to take a general alchemy course and carelessly registered for Professor Anaxagoras.

You’ve only heard of snippets about him in Okhema, he’s one of the Seven Sages and founded Nousporism, but he’s also known as a blasphemer and a lunatic who doesn’t believe in/disrespects the Titans and their prophecies. He is known for suddenly announcing to everyone within the vicinity of his new revelation and won’t stop until he’s done. Lady Aglaea, one of the main rulers of Okhema, despises him and calls him a “performer”.

The rumors only proved themself true when you sat in his lecture with the other students. Sometimes he would suddenly start talking to seemingly no one, and then laughs out loud when he gets a revelation related to his research.

Yet he taught the material well enough so you could keep up, but you still wanted out. Unfortunately you failed to see there is a no drop policy unless you get a fail in the syllabus.

And so, for the next Alchemy unit project you deliberately made sure to do every step wrong and that your report was filled with flaws. This will surely get you kicked out of the class!

The next day Professor Anaxagoras speaks before the main lecture. “I have graded your reports, some of you did alright while others not so much. One student managed to get 100% though, once you figure out who that is try to learn from them.”

And then as you expected, after class the professor requested you speak to him in his office, finally, freedom is near!

Once you’re across from him he slams down your graded report in front of you and it’s says…wait, 100%?!

    “P-professor, this can’t be right! I-“

He cuts you off. “Ah, so my hypothesis was correct, you did deliberately do every step wrong. Only a scholar who knows the ins and outs of alchemy can truly know how to get everything completely wrong for such a straightforward project. Plus, everything in your report is perfectly organized despite the futile flaws you tried to put in, clearly not some clueless fool writing malarkey.”

You were stunned, what do you do now??

“No need to say more, my student. I’m assuming you were trying to get kicked out of class? Nice try, you’ve got my attention with this little stunt you pulled off. I like students who rebel against the norm, just like how I’m considered a blasphemer for my opinions…”

Don’t compare this situation to that-

“Because of your skills, I require you to be one of my tutors for this class if you want to keep that 100% I gave you. Worry not, I will teach you everything in advance on Mondays and Thursdays, 5-7 pm sharp. Don’t be late.”
