Turns out a childhood crush had been worth it - worth something, at least. Rings, an arch, flowers that may or may not have been tossed to her brother, someone who she didn't think was even capable of pulling a rock, but caught it nonetheless, she expected to be invited, obviously, as his loving and so very non-sarcastic older sister. But it didn't matter, she was the Transfiguartion professor at Hogwarts now, and far too busy to attend one wedding so soon, he'd have to postpone it to next year. The castle was dark, and empty, lamps lighting up the dim hallways as she walked back to her room, such places always giving her a chill up her neck. Students were all in their common rooms, stowed away like cargo, so she wouldn't have to see any of those except Prefects. She made a turn, still walking just a little faster. The chill subsided, her shoulders relaxing as she opened the oak door, smiling.
"You're up late."
