Dean went to Sam’s dorm in college after not seeing each other for two years. Dean claimed their father, John, was missing on a hunting trip.
After their hunting trip Sam had an interview to get into law school. But when he went back to his dorm his girlfriend, Jessica, was on the ceiling bleeding and quickly caught on fire— this same thing happened to Sam and Dean’s mom.
Sam of course is horrified but Dean who didn’t leave the area yet noticed the fire and rushed in to save his little brother. After this incident Sam wanted to help Dean find their father— he needed answers for what killed his girlfriend and John Winchester probably had the answer.
Sam and Dean went to this girl named Haily. Now at her house they questioned her and her younger brother, Ben, about their older brother, Tommy, who had been mysteriously missing on a camping trip with a couple of friends— the location was at a place called Blackwater Ridge.
Sam found out every 23 years at the same location there were weird grizzly attacks, though obviously the duo thought it was something related to the paranormal. Then they managed to find the sole survivor of one of these attacks and got to ask a few questions.
Now Sam and Dean drove over to the location and saw Haily, Ben and a hunter helping, named Roy.
So after a not so friendly talk, the Winchester brothers followed the trio into the woods.
Roy had gone further out, but soon enough called. “HAILEY, OVER HERE!” He shouted and the rest of them same running towards the shout— now standing in front of a few tents, covered in blood and untouched supples…
They looked around at the stuff, Sam and Dean talked lowly about how the campers were dragged yet the tracks stopped somewhere.
Then suddenly, someone out in the distance shouted. “HELP!” The voice called and everyone came rushing towards the noise yet when they arrived there was no one in the area.
“Everybody back to camp.” Sam ordered and they went back to where their stuff was— but it seems like everything was stolen!
“Alright listen up, it’s time to go.” Sam said after a talk with Dean. “Things have gotten… more complicated.” He claimed, glancing at the others.
“What?” Hailey quickly asked.
“Kid, don’t worry. Whatever’s out there I think I can handle it.” Roy said to Sam, almost rolling his eyes.
“If you shoot it, you’re gonna make it mad.” Sam declared, glaring at Roy. “We have to leave, now.” He added, glancing over his shoulder and looking back at Dean who just gave a simple nod.
“One you’re talkin’ nonsense, two you’re in no position to give anybody orders!” Roy shouted at Sam, clearly fed up with whatever the young adult had to say.
“Relax,” Dean said to Roy.
“We should have never let you come out here in the first place— I’m trying to protect you.” Sam spoke directly to Roy, his gaze unwavering.
“You? Protect Me?” Roy scoffed. “I was huntin’ these woods when your mommy was still kissin’ you good night!” He spat, looking at Sam.
“Yeah? It’s a damn near perfect hunter— it’s smarter than you.” Sam muttered, stepping closer to the middle aged man. “And it’s gonna hunt you down and eat you alive unless we get your stupid ass out of here.”
Roy laughed. “You know you’re crazy, right?”
“Yeah? You ever hunt a Wen—” Sam was cut off by Dean lightly pushing Sam away from Roy. “Chill out!” Dean said, giving his little brother a glare, not wanting to expose the crew to the crazy thing called the Wendigo— were once humans, but after being forced to eat human flesh to survive, they become monsters. After their transformation, they begin to crave human flesh and feed solely on it.
After a few exchanged words and since it was getting late they set up camp and slept.
Then they heard another voice call out. “HELP ME!” It shouts, but then the voice is cut off by a loud growl.
Roy tries to shoot the creature and eventually does and chases after it, much to Sam and Dean’s dislike.
Though when the brothers try to find Roy, he’s gone. Eventually in the morning Dean and Sam tell Hailey and Ben about the Wendigo’s and now foolishly split.
