A bright picturesque sunset was spreading across the sky red-orange hues. The water surface reflected all the colors, sparkling with highlights where was the sun shining, which had almost set. This is nostalgia - a long time ago you first met in this very place. To your taste, this beach has not changed much over the years.
"I like it here. You know, such a laconic place." Suguru said, sitting next to you. Your feet were washed by cool sea water. You agreed with Suguru's words, but internally you still wondered why he invited you here. It is quite far from the village where you lived and where Suguru once lived. A couple of years ago, he went to the capital to study, because of which the last couple of years you rarely saw each other. You yourself were not in the village only the last couple of weeks, because there were things to do in the city. That's when Suguru called you, asking to meet before you had time return to the village village.
"Yeah, I like it here too. But it's going to get dark soon. Shouldn't we be heading back? Your parents will be so happy to see you." You said, then turned your gaze to the guy sitting next to you. He was quieter than usual today. He looked distantly into the distance for a while before he sighed softly, smiling gently.
"Don't worry. I don't think there are anyone left waiting for us." Suguru said in his casual voice. "I killed everyone, after all. A few days ago."
You were silent for a while, looking at Suguru, but his face remained unreadable - calm. You were in mute shock from his words, but before you could answer, he continued: "You see, I'm doing a good deed. It's just that monkeys can't understand such things." Suguru said, looking down at the sand under his hands. "I'm sorry that you can't even comprehend how much you're ruining the world just by existing." Suguru said. Despite his cruel words, he seemed to be filled with melancholy and barely audible irritation.
