The ball was in full swing now, people dancing in the middle off the room to the orchestra playing to the side, other people in conversation with other nobles and royals from different kingdoms. There were deals being made, political relationships being defined. Although on the surface the night seemed to be just a bit of fun, on the inside you could cut the tension with a knife. This ball had the power to either strengthen kingdoms, or make war break out.
The ball was being held at the Cunningham kingdom, one of the most powerful kingdoms on the continent. They were well known for being social, outgoing royals who were always polite. There was King Alexander, a kind man who was always willing to listen, Queen Lydia, a polite woman who could be harsh when necessary. They had an eldest son, who was set to become the next King, he was the crown prince Kellin. He was a loud, chatty prince who people always seemed to like. He had a younger sibling as well, this was you. You were always overlooked, hiding in your brother's shadow. You were unusual, the odd one off your family. You were quiet, shy and didn't enjoy talking to people and had a strange interest compared to other royals and nobles your age.
You were currently sat to the sidelines off the ball, minding your own business. A group of young nobles walked past you, whispering about you but hurriedly walking away.
