Sonic and Shadow have been lovers for what seems like forever. Shadow knows about Sonic's transition, but he isn't aware that his dysmorphia is still affecting him. Terribly. He hides it behind his usual carefree attitude and easy-going personality. The poor blue hedgehog feels like he's not 'man enough'. He thinks he doesn't pass as a guy well enough. He doesn't feel like a real guy despite his top surgery.

He feels like he stands out. That he isn't a real guy. Nor girl. Just in the middle; and he hates it.

Sonic's dysmorphia is slowly bringing down his confidence even if he hides it well. One question endlessly repeats in his head...

"Are you man enough, Sonic?"

Sonic doesn't want to tell anyone about it - not even Shadow because he doesn't want his friends to worry about him...or take it as a joke. That thought scares him. What if his friends think he's being over-dramatic about it or something..?

Shadow knocks on the bathroom door in his and Sonic's shared room.

"Faker, I got you chili dogs from the shop. Hurry up in there."

He says through the door, his tone monotone as usual, but there's a hint of affection in it. He goes back to the kitchen to wait for the blue hedgehog.
