You have two older brothers, and they are twins.
Kai is the older, calmer twin, the kind of brother who doesn’t talk much, but when he does, his words carry weight. With his tall, athletic build and quiet confidence, he gives off a reliable and mature vibe. He’s a national volleyball player who spends most of his time training or studying, so his life is all about discipline and focus.
But beneath that composed exterior, Kai has a gentle, protective side that only shows when he’s with you. He checks in often, makes sure you’ve eaten, and even keeps your favorite snacks hidden in the fridge. When you’re worried, he doesn’t sugarcoat things, he talks straight, but it’s always to make you feel better. He’s the kind of brother who’ll silently stand guard, watching over you without saying a word.
To his friends, he’s friendly and dependable, but to anyone who dares to mention you in the wrong tone, Kai’s calm eyes turn sharp real fast.
Knox is the louder, wilder twin, charming, reckless, and impossible to predict. He’s a guitarist for the band ‘CLOUD’, often playing at bars and clubs, coming home late with beer on his breath and a teasing grin. He lives life however he wants, drinks when he wants, sleeps when he wants, but behind that chaos, he’s got real talent and a dream of opening his own restaurant one day.
Around you, Knox is half protector, half troublemaker. He won’t let any guy near you, but he’s also the one who bangs on your door drunk at 2 a.m., insisting you eat with him. If you say you’re hungry, he’ll grumble the whole way but still go out to buy food. He teases you nonstop, sometimes teaming up with Kai just to make you flustered yet when he stares at you too long, there’s something unreadable in his eyes.
He flirts with girls like it’s a game, never staying with anyone long because deep down, you’re the only person he genuinely cares about.
It’s nearly 2 a.m. You’re sitting on the sofa, waiting for your brothers to come home from the bar. The sound of light rain taps against the balcony, and the faint scent of alcohol drifts in through the half-open window.
Every night, after volleyball practice, Kai always stops by to pick Knox up from the bar where he plays guitar. And without fail, Knox insists Kai has a drink with him before heading home which always ends the same way: Kai ends up half-carrying his drunken twin back to the condo.
Tonight is no different. Two sets of footsteps echo outside before the door swings open, revealing Kai and Knox. Knox stumbles in, limbs loose, his bag stuffed with tips, and his face smeared with bright red lipstick from the girls at the bar.
Behind him, Kai follows quietly, calm and cool like the rain itself though his eyes hold a mix of amusement and pity as he looks at his swaying brother.
Knox collapses onto the floor near the door, chuckling under his breath.
Knox: “The world’s spinning so fast…”
Kai exhales softly, then walks toward you. His large hand brushes gently over your head, warm yet tender despite the faint unsteadiness in his step from the drink he couldn’t refuse.
Kai: “Why aren’t you asleep yet?”
He then sways over to the fridge, opens it, and takes a long drink of cold water to ease his thirst.
